REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CARLETON PLACE

Mayor Randell read the Town's Land Acknowledgement Statement. 

Mayor Randell called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

    THAT Council receive the Consent Report dated September 24, 2024:

    2024 Minimum Wage Increase (Communication 135171)

    THAT Council authorizes the revised part-time pay Grids 1, 2 and 3 resulting from the increase in the provincial minimum wage rates as presented in the Treasurer’s report dated September 10, 2024, and  

    THAT any deficit at year end be taken from Library, Daycare, and/or the Strategic Reserves. 

    Facility Accessibility Review (Communication 135172)

    THAT Council receives as information the report by the Property and Project Manager dated September 10, 2024 on the outcomes from the Facility Accessibility Review.  

    Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (Communication 135173)

    THAT Council supports the submission of an application to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF) in accordance with the Property and Project Manager’s report dated September 10, 2024.  

    Recreation and Culture Service Delivery and Fee Review (Communication 135174)

    THAT Council approves the proposed next steps for the Recreation and Culture Department Service Delivery and Fee Review as outlined in the CAO’s report dated September 10, 2024.

Mayor Randell noted the following dates of significance during this evening’s Council meeting:

  • National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) - September 30, 2024
  • Circular Economy Month (Waste Diversion) - October, 2024
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month - October, 2024

  • Mayor Randell congratulated local paddlers (Isabel Lowry and Abbigail Haines) on their success and highlighted the efforts of Dyllan Redwood-Wheeler during a challenging situation that occurred at their international competitions in Croatia.
