Andrew Grunda, a consultant with Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. made a presentation regarding the final policy considerations prior to the adoption of the proposed Development Charges By-Law. Following the presentation, members of the Committee were given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss which non-statutory exemptions should be included in the upcoming By-Law. The possible non-statutory exemptions reviewed included industrial and institutional development, residential development in the Downtown District, Strategic Properties, as well as affordable housing. It was agreed that most of these concerns would be best addressed through the development of a Community Improvement Plan. Following the discussion, the proposed motion was passed.
