    OCWA Operational Plan Endorsement (Communication 131028) 

    THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to endorse the Operational Plan for the Town’s water system as submitted by the Ontario Clean Water Agency.

Councillor Tennant left the Council Chambers at 7:01 p.m.  He returned at 7:03 p.m. once this item had been dispensed with.

    THAT the budget deviation of $11,570.81 for the emergency repairs to the Gemmill Street Retaining Wall be funded from the Town’s overall 2019 surplus position, if possible and if not, from reserves.

    THAT Council supports utilizing funds from the 2019 Water and Wastewater Major Maintenance surplus to pay for the budget deviation of $68,212.90 ($138,212.90 less $70,000 budget) for the replacement of the existing heat exchanger at the Town’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The Mayor commented on the success of OPP skating event over the past weekend at Carleton Junction.  

Mayor Black asked for a moment of silence in honour of former Mississippi Mills Mayor, Sean McLaughlin who recently passed away.

Councillor Randell informed Council that the Food Bank will be moving to a new location in April.  He also commented on the success of recent food collection efforts of the Food Bank.  

Councillor Fritz informed Council about a Carleton Place hockey tournament that will include a team from Iqaluit taking place this Thursday.

Councillor Seccaspina advised that on Thursday there will be an event regarding affordable housing and creating housing solutions at the Arena.

Councillor Atkinson announced that the Carleton Place Environmental Advisory Committee elected Dena Comley as Chair and Jamie DeBaie as Deputy Chair.
